Do you know what's the minimum age for consuming/drinking alcohol in Portugal?
The minimum age for consuming spirits or equivalent beverages in Portugal is 18 years old.
A few years ago, it was still possible to consume alcohol from the age of 16 (beer and wine), but this legal age was changed to 18, due to various issues reported by nightlife establishments. They mentioned the difficulty of distinguishing a 16-year-old from an 18-year-old within a nightclub. Additionally, in the majority of other European countries, the minimum age is 18.
We would like to remind you that the minimum age to enter a nightclub remains 16 years old.
