A gold nugget is a naturally occurring piece of native gold. Back in the 1800s, the gold rush began in the USA. Masses emigrated to the country, spending hours wading sifting through shallow waters in the hope of finding a sliver of precious metal. Many years later, the rush for gold has wound down and been replaced with a new kind of nugget: the vinyl record. Vinyl junkies can spend hours sifting through crate after crate, searching for whatever piece of the aptly named ‘crack on wax’ satisfies their musical addiction. As two of the founders of Nugs On Board, one of the most exciting new labels in Portugal, we’re excited to invite Gonçalo and Manata for CAKE at MUSICBOX LISBOA. Leaving behind the precious and the refined, they're bringing the bouncing and the jacking, the raw and the sensual, the funky and the junky, the nuggets of house and techno designed to provide discotheque pleasure once the sun goes down.
